While the baklava is baking, make the syrup by combining the sugar, water, honey, and vanilla in a medium saucepan. 13. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. 14. When the baklava is done, remove it from the oven and pour the syrup over it. 15. Let the baklava cool before serving.
