Ingredients

  • 6 lasagna noodles
  • 1/2 pound of ground beef or Italian sausage

  • 1/2 cup of ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup of grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Large pot

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is translucent.

  8. Add another layer of meat sauce and repeat the layers with the remaining noodles and cheese mixture.
  9. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese over the top of the lasagna.
  10. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Let the lasagna cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

This recipe can easily be doubled to serve four people. Leftover lasagna can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
